As the Winding Engine Driver you will act and identify any electrical and/or mechanical faults while looking after the Winders operations whilst being responsible for:

• Reporting breakdowns in relations to the Winder
• Working closely and comminuting with the team
• Explaining and identifying faults on the machine to the team
• Conducting Safety meetings, addressing safety issues and planning of the daily activities
• Conducting inspections on the machine and recording the production data and challenges in the shaft
• Assisting with shaft inspections
• House keeping around the Winder House
• Reporting all breakdowns to the control room that are related to the Wider
• Ensuring safe and effective operation of the Winder during a shift, within the framework of the act and identifying electrical and/or mechanical faults
• Operating a winding engine
• Communicating winding engine defects to the appropriate supervisor or manager
• Co-ordinating winding activities with total process requirements.
• Stopping the winding operations if the working conditions are unsafe
• Basic maintenance of equipment
• Ensuring that quality work is performed and compile accurate shift reports
• Transportation of employees and material
• Ensuring correct usage of tools, ensuring safe and effective operation of winders

This role is in the Engineering Department at a C3 level reporting to the Section Engineer.

• Grade 12 with Mathematics or Science
• Winding Engine driver-Certificate Completed
• On Setter Ticket, compulsory

Experience

• 3 years’ experience working as a Winding Engine Driver
• Experience working in Double Drum Winder
• Platinum Mine exposure

Requirements

• Very Safety conscious individual
• Medically Fit
