Reporting to the Geology and Geotechnical Superintendent, this key role will see you:

• Providing geological support to the operation to ensure safe and efficient production.
• Contribute to developing geological hazard plans.
• Maintain the geological, geotechnical, borehole, coal quality, gas desorption and hydrogeological databases.
• Planning exploration, gas compliance drilling, sampling and other geological related studies.
• Timely issuing of the permit to mine and associated documentation (including grade plans, fault plans, borehole intersection notices, contour plans and geological hazard plans) for each mining area.
• Regular underground mapping, auditing and reporting to management and operations on geological issues.
• Assist with and if required initiate and execute the mine plan change and authority to mine processes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Geological Sciences or equivalent
• At least one year experience in operational mining (either open cut or underground)
• Spatial design skills and awareness
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analysis, problem solving and attention to detail

• Full-time permanent position
• 5 ON / 2 OFF Roster
• Residential, DIDO or FIFO (salary sacrifice)
• Relocation assistance and subsidised accommodation
• Location: Middlemount QLD.
