Preformed Line Products, currently seeking a Toolmaker Apprentice to join our dynamic and
well-established team in Pietermaritzburg.

Minimum Requirements
(Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.)
• Minimum matric with maths or an NQF level 4 certification
• Knowledge of toolroom equipment and terminology would be a requirement.

• Degree/Diploma in engineering would be advantage.
• Knowledge of tooling in a production environment would be an advantage.
• Working knowledge and experience of welding, lathe, CNC programming, setup and
machining to specification would be a requirement.

Key Performance Areas
• General assistance within the tool room
• Interpret PLP drawing and manufacturing specifications.
• Perform various functions as required and designated by the tooling coordinators.
• Interface with production and engineering staff w.r.t tooling requirements
• Contribute positively towards lean initiatives to improve product quality and reduce scrap
