Introduction
As the Wash Bay/Yard Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our wash bay and yard. This includes supervising a team of employees, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the yard, and maintaining equipment. Your leadership and attention to detail will ensure that our clients operations run smoothly and efficiently, especially considering their handling of hazardous materials.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the wash bay and yard staff
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the wash bay and yard
- Train and mentor new employees
- Maintain and service washing and yard equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, particularly regarding hazardous materials
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Schedule and manage work shifts for the wash bay and yard team
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks
- Address and resolve any operational issues promptly
Desired Experience & Qualification
- High school matric or equivalent; additional education or certifications in a related field is a plus
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a wash bay or yard environment
- Experience with chemicals and handling hazardous materials is required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
